Learning through Cases
The Learning through Cases model offers students and instructors the pedagogical power of the narrative to frame the core sociological concepts explored in undergraduate criminology and criminal justice courses. The case study approach empowers students to think independently and to actively utilize the concepts presented in these accessible textbooks.

Each book in the Learning through Cases series will include the same organizational and pedagogical elements:
  • A compelling case study before each chapter, followed by “Thinking Critically about this Case” (student questions) and “Check Out this Case” (links to web materials, additional resources)
  • Learning Objectives
  • Key terms throughout the chapter
  • Review and Study Questions
